Me n my cuz

A few nights ago mimzy got to hang out with cousin Opie! It's fun to watch them go crazy together with their bulging pug eyes. Although Opie doesn't have the same snorts, he's got the same huge eyes. (Opie is a puggle. Have pug, half beagle, and of course we like to focus on his better half.)

Here it comes.....my favorite......the head tilt

Well, I don't have much else for today....hope you have a pugerific day!!

Recent Adventures

Goooood Morning!

This morning me and pugpapa started off with a brisk run and then came back to grab our Mimzy for a freezing bike ride! It was her very first bike ride and we hoped to make it 5 miles to the nearest dog park. She was a trooper and shivered the whole way. I couldn't tell if it was scared shivers or cold shivers. I think a little of both! We didn't get to the dog park because it was so freezing, but we went about 4 miles!

So she hung in there, snorting all the way. and yes, she is hooked in by her harness. I learned that is the only way to bike with her the hard way. The first time i just set her in the basket and we set out on the grass. She jumped right out, landed on her face, did an impressive back flip, and stood smiling at me with her little cinnabun tail wagging away. We won't try that again.

A few days ago I had a day off of work and took her shopping with me. She helped me pick out the fabric for the matching easter dresses I am making. Oh yes, you read that right. She will be wearing a dress. Just like mama. With bunny ears. We were in Hobby Lobby for an hour and a half looking at fabric and settled on a nice pale yellow so that pugpapa could have a matching tie. I know what your thinking! "What about Luna?" I couldn't leave her out! She will have a matching huge bow. Just for pictures. :)

When we go shopping, Mimzy insists on driving.

Sometimes Pugpapa has to hold on to her so I can drive. She LOVES sitting on my lap while I drive and gets all disgruntled if I don't let her. Mainly she will snort and blow snot bubbles in our faces until she gets her way. It doesn't take much. She's so cute!

Anyway, That's all for now...have a pugtastic day!

Rub-a-dub-dub, there's a pug in my tub!

Last night Mimzy had her first bath and this in why. She has had this itching problem and so her bed that is in her kennel was covered in hair. I finally took it outside to shake off the chunks (literally) of hair and when I was done, i look down to see a MOUND of Mimzy fur on the grass. I decided to leave it there because I thought it would just blow away.

Nope. one by one, and sometimes three by three, BIRDS came. They took mouthfuls and brought them back to their nests. I watched them fly back to the trees! Not even 10 minutes passed and all the hair was gone. Taken by the birds. So I guess it is safe to say that there will be some warm baby birds this spring around our area :)

That night we decided it was time for Mimzy to have a bath.

We might just have a little swimmer on our hands! She didn't seem to mind the bath, although it didn't help the shedding much.

And Luna is warming up to her.......

At least she is trying her hardest too ;). Mimzy always wants to play and doesn't understand why Luna doesn't like her snorting in her face. Poor Luna.

Well, That's all for now! It's stir-fry for dinner and ice cream for dessert! Have a pugaliciouse night!! tata for now!

Wear your sweater!

Here are the pictures you have all been waiting for....Luna's new sweater. I don't know if she likes it. In fact, i think she hates it and even despises it. How could I pass up a four dollar argyle dog sweater that looked like it would fit my cat?

So it's not hard to tell what her opinion is about her new sweater. My husband doesn't like it when I put it on her because she hates it, so that limits the times I can use it. Yesterday morning when we woke up, we had all the windows open and she was going crazy with frisk because of the cold air. As she bounced off the walls and everything else we own, my husband says "Luna is having a frisk fest this morning!" HAHA! A frisk fest! I couldn't stop laughing.

On another note.....

This week has gone by fast, thankfully, because a lot has been going on. I have been sewing like a crazy woman, and I just bought some great fabric for my next apron. It is seriously great. My grandma sent me a gift card to the fabric store in the mail and i just about peed my pants when I opened it. Thanks Muttie!!

I am inspired by a new person at work. She has an Etsy site called my vintage whimsies and she has been published in a magazine for her stuff. I get to work with her so I got all the details of how she got published, and I thought to myself..."i'm going to get published". My mind is made up. I am shooting for the magazine called "Apronology". My hope is to get into next years October issue with some Halloween kid aprons. I have to send in 4 samples and an article.

lots to do, lots to do! Hope your day is full of whimsy and adventure!

A pug post

This is the wallpaper on my laptop. I was lucky enough to find it on google. I have told my husband before that I fully intend on sewing outfits for our pug babies. I especially like the idea of a Christmas card with the four of us (oops..5 of us...sorry Luna) in argyle sweaters. So great! But really...does this picture get any better? I mean look at those huge globes he's got goin on there.

I am liking this one too I think. Very inspirational. Something about it just really makes my day.

Well, it is a Sunday night, which means the week full of work is staring me in the face, so I don't have a lot to write about. Nothing really whimsy or exciting has occurred this weekend  so hopefully the week will make up for it!!! Have a punatiouse night!!!!

Higher than Necessary Expectations

Well I know I won't meet my sisters high expectations in this very first blog entry of mine and frankly, that's alright. I am just thankful for the spell checker on this thing because I am the worst of spellers. In fact, I just spelt "because" wrong up there. Thank you mystery computer editor man who changes my words.

I have been wanting to begin a blog because I recently married my best friend and don't want to forget all the funny/crazy things that we encounter on a weekly bases. We currently live in an apartment with a snuggly sweet kitty named Luna Bell. If it weren't for the rules here, we would be a family of five with two puggies running around. Soon. Very soon.

My husband and I love whimsy things. When we moved in, he insisted that we have the most whimsical deck in the whole complex so we bought flowers and lots of chimes. In fact, we even put chimes inside our apartment to add to the whimsy. I don't know if our neighbors above us liked that. Luna carries a great deal of whimsy and adventure everywhere she goes. She is a smaller than average cat with white long hair that sticks out like she has been rubbing on a static balloon all day. She likes to tell us stories and sing songs every minute of the day unless she is sleeping. I'm not sure our neighbors like that either!

I love being married to my best friend who leads me ever day in the walk of Christ and constantly teaches me new things. We try to be an adventurous (once again, thank you spell checking man, that was a tough word, you can't blame me for not knowing how to spell it) couple and love playing games together. We recently bought new bikes which we use for making those late evening runs to the grocery store to get 2 gallons ice cream when we get the urge.

SO I guess I shouldn't make my first entry too much longer if I want any of you to come back. I hope I am not too boring to read about. I did by best to make my sister proud but honestly, if my blog is half as interesting as hers, I will be happy :) I hope you all have a great weekend full of adventure and whimsy! ta ta for now!
